How do alerts reach people?

By email, Telegram or WhatsApp, on a schedule you choose. A rule can also send a command to the device as it fires, for example to immobilise a vehicle.

Can the platform warn about speed cameras?

Yes, with the traffic module. The live map can overlay speed camera positions, the legal limit of the road and reported traffic incidents, and a vehicle passing a camera too fast or going over a road's limit triggers an alert.
